Learn how to create a natural lip scrub. Environmental factors such as climate, temperature changes, as well as the biological conditions of each organism, are decisive for our skin. Hence the need to know what are the dietary guidelines, hydration and essential cosmetic products in our daily care routine.
The skin is one of the most important organs of the human body. It behaves as a kind of barrier that separates the interior of the organism from the external environment and, at the same time, through it, we absorb what exists in said environment. It is necessary to know our skin to provide it with the necessary care in terms of hygiene, hydration, nutrition and protection that it requires.
Food and hydration
The skin reflects the conditions of our organism. If we eat properly, including fruits, vegetables, legumes, complex carbohydrates, healthy fats and proteins, our skin will look radiant, smooth, with the glow of youth, and will be in a better position to resist climate changes and the damage that produces environmental pollution.
Likewise, we must be attentive to the hydration of our body so that it can fully fulfill its functions; It is about drinking about two liters of water a day. By complying with the amounts of liquid and by betting on nutritious and healthy foods, you will be surprised at the changes you will see in your skin.
External agents
Changes in temperature, intense heat, cold, wind, UV rays, directly affect the most delicate areas of our face because they are the ones that are most exposed.
In addittion, the type of cosmetic products that we apply, both facial care and makeup, can affect the condition of our skin. For this reason, it is important to know what ingredients the products we buy contain, since they affect not only the skin but the entire body.
Lip care, lip scrub and balms
Both in winter and summer it is very important to take care of our lips because they are very sensitive to changes in temperature. Hydration with a good lip balm is essential. We recommend that you do the exfoliation once a week or every 15 days depending on the sensitivity of your skin.
At Savia we have prepared this recipe for you to make a super effective homemade scrub:
Lip scrub recipe
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons of white sugar (you can also use brown sugar).
- 1/2 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil (can be substituted with liquid coconut oil).
- 1/2 tablespoon sweet almond oil (jojoba oil can be substituted).
- 2 drops of essential oil of your choice (we recommend mint, lemon or tangerine).
- 1 capsule of vitamin E (optional).
Preparation
To prepare this lip scrub, in a container add the oils and mix them; Later, add the sugar until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. It should not be too greasy or too dry, it should be just the right consistency to apply with your fingers (adjust if necessary by adding more sugar or more oils). Once you have the homogeneous mixture ready, break the vitamin E capsule, empty its content into the mixture and unify everything again. Store in an airtight container and try not to expose it to high temperatures or a lot of sunlight.
How to use:
- Apply the lip scrub you just made to the surface of your lips.
- Gently massage with your index fingers in a circular motion for about two minutes.
- Leave on for another minute, without rubbing. You can apply more lip scrub if warranted.
Rinse lips with a little water, pat dry and apply lip balm.
A good trick is to apply a little of your eye contour after the treatment. You will feel the difference!
